Activities for
Young People in the Whitehaven Methodist Circuit
Youth Nite - A
new youth group, organised and run by young people in the circuit, has
just started in Egremont Methodist Church Hall. It meets on the 3rd
Sunday of every month, from 6:00 - 7:30 pm. It includes pool, snooker,
table tennis, table football and other games. They even have their own
football team!
NEW! Now with added Bite! Youth Bite usually takes place on the fist Sunday of the month from 6-7.30pm in the Fellowship room at Egremont Methodist Church. (Dates can be confirmed on the Circuit Plan accessed via this website.) Youth Bite has developed from, and complements, the Youth Nite meetings offering those aged 11-16 a time for spiritual discussion and exploration.

The Girls Brigade
meetings are held in the Hensingham Methodist Church Hall:
Girls Brigade - Fridays at 6:15 pm (only during school term time)
Sunday Schools and
other groups
Cleator Moor
We have an enthusiastic
Education and Youth Group in the Circuit who organise activities during
the year. These have included:
- Swimming
- Picnics
- Games
- Roller-skating
- Soft play
- All age worship services
- Kaleidoscope training course for workers with
children and young people and 16 leaders attended.
Egremont
We have a small Sunday School
and Adventurers Club on a Sunday morning.
We also have a St John's
Ambulance Badgers group meeting at the church.

Gosforth
The Gosforth All Stars meet on
a Sunday morning for children aged 3-11 years. Activities include:
- Singing
- Craft
- Stories
- Games
- Quizzes
Two
or three times a year we hold fun days on a Sunday. The youngsters come
as usual for All Stars and then stay for lunch and continue with games
and activities during the afternoon.
Hensingham
We
have a small Sunday School, and Girls Brigade meets on Friday evening
during school terms. All our young people participate in our monthly
family and parade services on the third Sunday in the month.
Seascale
At Seascale, there is J-Team
on Sundays from 10-11 am for younger children aged 3-10 years,
activities include:
- Singing
- Craft
- Stories
- Videos
- Games
The K-Team (for 12-18 year
olds) meets every Sunday at the Bowling Club from 10-11am.
There
is also a group for children aged 10-14 years, this is mainly
discussion based. On Friday night a club for 5-7 year olds runs and a
junior youth club for 7-11 year olds, the activities include:
Rainbow and Brownies also meet
in the church hall.
We
also hold Holiday club mainly in the Easter vacation. About 40
youngsters and 12 leaders enjoy a time of fun and games while learning
more about God's love and about Jesus. This year the theme for the
holiday club was 'Groundbreakers' based around a building site, we
learned about people who have been groundbreakers, both biblical
characters and more up to date characters.
St Bees
We have a
small Sunday School, and young people take part in monthly
family services on the second Sunday of the month and are very
enthusiastic.
