Policy and Objectives

**Whitehaven Methodist Circuit Policy**
Each church is a centre where people gather for worship, learning and caring. Each church is a centre from which people go out to serve and evangelise. The Circuit exists to support and enable the churches in these aspects of god’s mission. The circuit also encourages and facilitates activity in other places within it where opportunities to further God’s mission arise (e.g. Sellafield, West Cumberland Hospital, schools, and Fresh Expressions).

**Circuit Objectives for 2010/11 are:**
To raise money for the Pride of Cumbria Air Ambulance (£245.70 has been raised to the end of May 2011). To promote 2011 as 'The Year of the Bible' and 'Biblefresh'. To support local churches, as necessary, in the fulfilment of their priorities arising from the District's Planning for Now and the Future initiative.
