Welcome to the Whitehaven Methodist Circuit
In this part of the lovely West coast of Cumbria,
our Circuit nestles between the villages of Moresby Parks in the
north and Seascale in the south, and includes the towns of
Whitehaven, Cleator Moor and Egremont. We are also in a Local
Ecumenical Partnership with the Church of England at Kirkland
Mission, near the beautiful Ennerdale Water.
Our churches seek to be welcoming - open to
everyone whatever their age, race, gender or social circumstances.
The majority of our churches have easy access and
‘loop’ systems for those with hearing difficulties.
We affirm that the Methodist Church exists to:
-
increase awareness of God's presence and to
celebrate God's love;
-
help people to grow and learn as Christians
through mutual support and care;
-
be a good neighbour to people in need and to
challenge injustice;
-
make more followers of Jesus Christ.
As Christians, we seek to work as individual
churches, and with other churches and community groups, to fulfil
the above purposes both locally and in the wider world, through
worship, learning, caring, service and evangelism.
We are sure that you will be warmly welcomed,
either as a visitor or if you have moved into the area, in any of
our churches, details of which can be found elsewhere on this site.
We look forward to meeting you.
